About the platform

Is AnglicanNG the official Church of Nigeria website?
No. AnglicanNG is an independent platform, built by Anglicans, serving the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). We are not a diocesan or provincial body, and we do not speak on behalf of the Church.
Who runs AnglicanNG?
AnglicanNG is built and operated by Mezie Platforms Limited (RC 8279418), a company registered in the Federal Republic of Nigeria with its registered office at Mmimi Nawfia, Anambra State. It was founded by Christopher Okonkwo — the story is on the About page.
Can non-Anglicans join?
Yes. You don't have to be Anglican to have an AnglicanNG account. Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, Roman Catholic, still deciding — you're welcome. We will ask once so we can tailor a little of what you see, and that's the end of it.
How is this different from a WhatsApp group or a Facebook page?
A WhatsApp group is a river — messages scroll past, and next Sunday's notice is drowned by yesterday's greetings. AnglicanNG gives a parish a real website, a searchable directory listing, a Sunday sheet that persists, sacramental registers, a rota, a giving page, and a directory of every other Anglican parish in Nigeria at the same address. It complements your WhatsApp group; it does not replace it.
Are the Bible translation, hymns and offices you use approved?
The offices are the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, which is in the public domain. Scripture is the KJV, WEB, and an Igbo translation. Hymns are drawn from the standard Anglican Hymnal. If we add a text that requires consent — for example the Church of Nigeria's own BCP — we will only do so with written permission.
What happens to my data if AnglicanNG closes down?
If we ever close, we commit to at least 60 days' notice by email, an exportable archive of your posts, records and giving history, and a permanent purge of private data at the end of that window. The details are in our Privacy Policy.

For parishes

What does it cost my parish?
A parish page and everything most parishes actually use is free forever. A small number of premium features (like live push during a service) are self-serve and can be started or stopped at any time. For a full breakdown see the Pricing page.
What do you take from a donation given through the platform?
A stated commission is taken on the transaction to cover payment processing and the running of the platform; everything else settles to the church's own account. The current rate is on the Pricing page, and every donation is receipted.
My parish is not on here. How do we get listed?
Sign up for an account and use "Bring your church online" from the home page. It takes about five minutes; a person on our side reviews the details before the parish page goes live, usually within a day. The setup guide walks through what to write.
Not tech-savvy? Will you help set us up?
Yes. WhatsApp us on 09160904343 and someone will sit with you (over the phone or on a video call) and set the parish page up alongside you. It usually takes under an hour.
Can our diocese endorse fundraising through AnglicanNG?
Yes. A parish that wants to raise money publicly needs endorsement from one level up the hierarchy (typically its archdeaconry or diocese), plus a bank account for the funds to settle into. The workflow is built into the platform.
My parish already has a website — why should we move?
You do not have to move. But AnglicanNG lets a parish be found alongside every other Anglican parish in Nigeria, gives it a Sunday sheet, registers, a rota, giving, communities and a mobile app — all bundled — so most parishes retire the old brochure site once they see the difference. Bring your existing content across; we can help.

For members

Can I follow my parish while living abroad?
Yes — that is precisely why AnglicanNG exists. Choose your home parish when you sign up and you will see its Sunday sheet, its news, its prayer requests, and be able to give from wherever you are. The account guide covers it.
What phone or computer do I need?
Any modern smartphone or laptop works. AnglicanNG is a Progressive Web App — you can add it to your home screen from your browser and it will behave like a native app, including notifications.
Do I have to be online during the service?
No. You can mark Bible chapters, the hymnal, and the daily offices as "keep offline" and read them on a phone with no signal. The Sunday sheet can be printed.
How do I delete my account?
Email support@anglicanng.com from the address on the account and we will delete it within 7 working days. Public content you contributed to a parish is retained by the parish; personal data is purged.
